10 Best SaaS Affiliate Programs

Software as a Service (SaaS) is a cloud-based software distribution model where a service provider hosts applications and makes them available to customers over the internet.

Instead of purchasing software and installing it directly onto individual computers, SaaS users subscribe to an application, typically on a monthly or yearly basis. Examples of popular SaaS products include Google Workspace, Salesforce, and Dropbox.

SaaS affiliate programs have become particularly important in the digital economy. Why is that?

High Growth Sector: SaaS is a rapidly growing market sector. In 2020, the global SaaS market was worth $158.8 billion, and it’s predicted to reach $307.3 billion by 2026. This growth presents ample opportunities for affiliates to profit by promoting SaaS products.
Recurring Commissions: Unlike one-time purchases, SaaS products typically operate on a subscription basis, meaning affiliates can earn recurring commissions. That means steady, predictable income.
Broad Audience Base: With the increased digitization of business processes and everyday tasks, SaaS products have a wide appeal, making it easier for affiliates to find a target audience.

As you navigate the world of SaaS affiliate marketing, understanding these foundational concepts is essential. It provides a stepping stone for you to start and succeed in this lucrative field.

The Benefits of SaaS Affiliate Programs

SaaS affiliate programs can be lucrative, offering a range of compelling benefits. Let’s delve into the details.

Passive Income Source

Firstly, SaaS affiliate programs offer an opportunity to earn passive income. Once you’ve set up your affiliate links within your blog posts, emails, or social media posts, you could potentially earn revenue from them indefinitely.

It’s like planting a tree. Once it’s matured, it can bear fruit year after year without additional effort from you.

High Commission Rates

Secondly, SaaS affiliate programs often have high commission rates. While rates can vary, it’s not uncommon to see SaaS companies offering 20-30% commission rates, with some going as high as 50%.

For instance, Shopify, a popular ecommerce platform, offers up to 200% per sale for their affiliate partners. That means the earning potential can be significant, especially when you promote higher-priced SaaS products.

Recurring Revenue Streams

Another important feature of SaaS affiliate programs is the opportunity to earn recurring revenue. Unlike traditional products that people purchase once, SaaS products usually operate on a subscription basis.

When customers you’ve referred continue to use the service, you continue to earn commissions, creating a recurring revenue stream.

For example, the affiliate program of FreshBooks, a cloud-based accounting software, offers a recurring commission of up to $5 per active referral, per month2.

Broad Audience Base

Finally, the audience base for SaaS products is broad and growing. With digital tools becoming integral to businesses and personal life, the potential market for these products is expansive.

This wide audience can make it easier for you to find a niche that aligns with your interests and expertise, and where you can attract and engage potential customers.

SaaS affiliate programs can provide you with a source of passive income, offer high commission rates, enable recurring revenue, and give access to a broad audience base.

These benefits make it an attractive choice for those looking to delve into the world of affiliate marketing.

Characteristics of a Good SaaS Affiliate Program

When considering a SaaS affiliate program to join, it’s important to evaluate several key characteristics. Let’s break down what you should be looking for.

High Commission Rates

Look for programs that offer high commission rates. The higher the commission rate, the more you earn from each sale.

Rates vary among SaaS affiliate programs, but finding one that offers 20-30% or more can increase your earning potential significantly.

For instance, SEMRush, a digital marketing tool, offers affiliates up to 40% recurring commission1.

Good Product Reputation

Next, consider the product’s reputation. A product with good reviews and positive user feedback is typically easier to promote.

A good reputation indicates a high-quality product that delivers on its promises, which can make your job as an affiliate marketer easier and more effective.

Effective Tracking and Reporting System

An effective tracking and reporting system is crucial. This helps you monitor the clicks, sales, and commissions earned from your affiliate links.

A robust tracking system allows you to assess your promotional efforts’ success and identify areas for improvement. HubSpot, for instance, offers a comprehensive dashboard for affiliates to track their performance2.

Reliable Customer Support

Reliable customer support from the affiliate program is another key consideration. This includes not only technical support for using the affiliate system but also marketing support, such as access to promotional materials and advice on marketing strategies.

Good customer support can facilitate your marketing efforts and help you resolve any issues that may arise.

Clear and Beneficial Terms and Conditions

Lastly, ensure the affiliate program’s terms and conditions are clear and beneficial. Look for details like how and when you’ll be paid, what marketing methods are allowed, and whether there’s a minimum payout threshold.

These terms should be transparent and work in your favor to make the affiliate relationship sustainable and profitable.

Before joining a SaaS affiliate program, ensure it offers high commission rates, the product has a good reputation, there’s an effective tracking and reporting system, reliable customer support, and clear and beneficial terms and conditions.

Utilizing Various Promotional Strategies

Diversifying your promotional methods can extend your reach and effectiveness.

For instance, content marketing allows you to provide valuable information related to the product, SEO can increase the visibility of this content, and social media marketing can engage your audience and drive traffic to your content.

Regularly Reviewing and Optimizing Your Strategy

Last but not least, regularly reviewing your performance can identify what’s working and what’s not.

Use this data to refine your approach, focusing on the most effective strategies and improving or discarding the less successful ones.

The Importance of Creative Content for Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing, by its nature, is a dynamic and competitive field, and success in this domain hinges on a marketer’s ability to create distinctive and engaging content.

But why does creative content matter so much in affiliate marketing? Let’s dissect this by understanding the underlying principles and logic.

Differentiation

In the online world, consumers are overwhelmed with choices. As per Worldometers’ data, over 5 million blog posts are written each day. Hence, for an affiliate marketer, standing out from the crowd becomes critical.

By presenting creative and unique content, marketers can differentiate themselves, making their website or blog more likely to be noticed and remembered by the audience.

Engagement and Retention

The primary function of content is to attract and retain visitors. According to a study by Microsoft, the human attention span is only eight seconds.

Thus, having content that can quickly capture and hold audience interest can improve user engagement and visitor retention.

Creative content that offers valuable information, is emotionally appealing, or tells a captivating story is more likely to engage users and keep them on the site longer.

Building Trust

Trustworthiness is a crucial factor in affiliate marketing. As per Nielsen’s Global Trust in Advertising report, 88% of online respondents say they trust the recommendations of friends and family.

By consistently providing useful and creative content, affiliate marketers can build a relationship with their audience, fostering a level of trust similar to that of a friend or family member. This trust can then translate into higher click-through and conversion rates for affiliate links.

SEO Benefits

Creative content has a positive impact on Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Google’s algorithms reward unique, relevant, and high-quality content with higher search engine rankings.

A higher ranking results in increased visibility and organic traffic, which in turn can lead to more conversions and profits.

For instance, according to Backlinko, the first result on Google’s search results gets 31.7% of all clicks — while results on the second page get just a mere 0.78% of clicks.

In summary, creative content serves as the cornerstone of successful affiliate marketing. It helps to differentiate from competitors, engage and retain visitors, build trust with the audience, and improve SEO rankings. As we move forward in this guide, we will delve deeper into how to harness the power of creative content for effective affiliate marketing.

Understanding Your Audience

In the world of affiliate marketing, understanding your audience is like possessing a roadmap to success.

It helps in determining what kind of content resonates with your readers, which products they are likely to buy, and how you should communicate your messages to them.

Here, we’ll explore the importance of knowing your audience, techniques for understanding them better, and tailoring your content based on your audience’s preferences and behavior.

The Importance of Knowing Your Audience

Relevant Content

The ultimate purpose of creating content is to cater to your audience’s needs and interests. According to the Content Marketing Institute’s 2020 report, 88% of top-performing businesses prioritize delivering content quality, relevant to their audience.

Knowing your audience allows you to develop content that they find valuable and engaging, thus building a loyal readership.

Effective Promotion

Understanding your audience helps in the successful promotion of your affiliate products. If you know their preferences and needs, you can select and promote products that they are likely to purchase.

For instance, promoting professional-grade photography equipment to an audience interested in advanced photography techniques will likely yield better results than promoting basic camera gear.

Techniques for Understanding Your Audience Better

1. Surveys and Questionnaires

These are efficient tools for gaining insights into your audience. You can ask about their interests, preferences, and needs related to your niche. According to SurveyMonkey, surveys that take 7-8 minutes to complete receive the highest response rate, so ensure your surveys are concise.

2. Social Media Analysis

Social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram offer analytics that can provide valuable insights about your followers. This includes their demographic details, interests, and even the times they’re most active online.

3. Website Analytics

Tools like Google Analytics can help you understand your audience’s behavior on your website, including the content they consume most, the devices they use, their geographical location, and more.

How to Tailor Your Content Based on Your Audience

Once you understand your audience, you can start tailoring your content to their preferences.

Content Type

Different audiences prefer different types of content. For example, younger audiences might prefer video content, while a professional audience might appreciate in-depth articles or white papers.

Using the data collected, ensure your content aligns with your audience’s preferences.

Tone and Language

The way you communicate with your audience also matters. If your audience is more casual, an informal and friendly tone might work best.

However, if your audience is professional, a more formal and authoritative tone might be preferred.

Personalization

By leveraging user data, you can personalize content to meet the unique needs and interests of individual readers. According to SmarterHQ, 72% of consumers say they only engage with personalized messages.

So, customizing emails, product recommendations, and even content topics can significantly boost user engagement and conversions.

In essence, understanding your audience is an integral part of affiliate marketing. It provides the foundation upon which you can build effective content strategies, improve your promotional efforts, and ultimately enhance your conversion rates. So, let’s put these insights into action and start creating content that truly resonates with your audience.

Increased Engagement: According to a study by Brain Rules, people are likely to remember only 10% of the information they hear, but when a relevant image is paired with that same information, people retained 65% of the information three days later. Building Trust: Images and videos of the actual product in use can help build trust as they provide visual proof of the product’s quality and performance.

Be Fair and Balanced: Aim to present an unbiased view of all products, highlighting both their strengths and weaknesses. Readers value honesty and will appreciate your balanced perspective.

Include Personal Insights: Inject your personal experiences and insights where relevant. This will make your answers more relatable and interesting.
Incorporate Affiliate Links: Naturally incorporate affiliate links into your answers. For instance, if a question pertains to a product you’re an affiliate for, include a link when discussing that product.
Make It User-Friendly: Structure your FAQ post in a user-friendly way. This could involve categorizing questions, using a table of contents, or making questions clickable so users can jump to the answer.

How to Source FAQs from Your Audience

Reader Comments: Look at the comments on your blog posts or social media posts. Are there common questions your readers ask?
Surveys: Conduct surveys among your audience to understand their queries and concerns.
Social Listening: Use social listening tools to monitor discussions about your niche or specific products on social media platforms, forums, and other online spaces.
Direct Emails: You can directly ask your email subscribers to send their questions.

Promote Your Contest or Giveaway: Announce and promote it on your blog, social media channels, email newsletters, and other applicable platforms. The more visibility it has, the greater participation you’re likely to see.

Watch and Earn: 17 Best Anime Affiliate Programs of 2023 for Anime Fans and Affiliate Marketers

When this post on anime affiliate programs was initially published, Spirited Away was still the highest-grossing animated film of all time.

Post Contents

The title now belongs to Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, grossing US$503M worldwide in 2020. That, in itself, is no big deal. A new film is bound to come along to knock out the current title-holder. What is astonishing is that it was released in October 2020, when Japan and the rest of the world was still locked down due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train slayed at the box office.

And from a measly 6 anime affiliate programs, our list has expanded to 17.

Hardly surprising, really. Anime as an industry is still doing well, reportedly earning $24B in 2019. It did experience a dip in Japan sales last year, but remains strong despite it and the pandemic. Thanks to streaming sites like Crunchyroll and Netflix, we can all binge-watch anime series and films like SailorMoon, Pokemon, and One Piece.

If you have absolutely no idea what I have said above, fear not. There is plenty of information on anime online like this, and a lengthy, informative entry in Wikipedia

Suffice to say, anime is huge, and not just in Japan. As you will see through the following anime affiliate programs, anime is popular all over the world.

These are “unicorns” more than “Super Saiyans” of the anime niche. I’ve checked far and wide, and so far, these are the only anime and anime-related shops that currently have active affiliate programs.

Anime-ted Keywords

Competition in this niche is hardly as cute as their characters. It can be cutthroat, so you have to be cunning and have a strategy like any good anime hero.

Despite the high competition that it usually always comes with, it’s the buyer-intent keywords you want most of in your roster. They are the ones that can potentially bring in all the traffic, after all.

Don’t think that you won’t find that in the anime niche. Anime characters are oftentimes cute and wide-eyed, but competition for their keywords are hardly that.

Get yourself acquainted with the anime that you will be promoting first: title, characters, the merchandise. You can then string those along to form the keywords you’ll search for. If you’re promoting pillows featuring Akaza of Demon Slayer, then your keywords would be along the lines of “demon slayer pillows”,“demon slayer Akaza pillow”, and “Akaza pillow”.

These keywords will not have that most searches but will have high competition because anyone using these keywords are likely looking to buy.

There are other keywords you can use that have high searches but not much competition. These are usually searches for videos, recaps or episode reviews. No intention to buy there, but you can use these keywords to get traffic to your page, and on that page, make sure to put a call-to-action link promoting any of the above affiliate products.

Driving Traffic the Anime Way

A solid link building plan is necessary, regardless of the niche you’re going into.  Make sure to have, at the very least, an idea of how you’ll get people to your anime website.

A quick check in any search engine on top anime websites will show you that these are mostly streaming websites. There are blogs that you will be competing against too so you really need to have some game plan laid out.

The goal is not to get all that traffic, but to get a (considerable) portion of it to your website. Below are a few methods to help you get some audience to your anime website.

Social Media Marketing

I think this method is on everyone’s list for top marketing methods. Not only can you promote almost anything through social media, there’s also the huge market, which is logged on 24/7, that you can tap into.

It can be tricky, but there’s plenty of tutorials online to guide you. On the Affilorama site alone, you’ll find free lessons on how to promote your blog on social networking sites and blog posts on how to hit your target market using Facebook.

Blog and Forum Commenting

The anime community is huge. While this certainly makes this niche a competitive one, it also gives you plenty of link building opportunities by way of blog commenting. You’ll find plenty of blogs like this and this that you can comment on.

If you’re a long-time anime fan, then this would be easy enough for you, going into discussions of your favorite series, or a specific episode. If this is your first venture into anime, fear not. Be honest and let them know you’re new to the genre. What’s important is to join in on the conversation and try your best to give honest and helpful responses.

As with social media marketing, there’s a variety of online how-to’s that show you how to properly comment on blogs and forums.

Content Strategy

If you clicked on the links to the sample blogs above, you already know what you’ll be up against. These bloggers publish content on a regular basis, and these are not your general “what-is-this-anime-about” articles. The reason these blogs are popular is because they do episode commentary. They follow a specific anime (or several!) and they go over each episode, summarizing it and adding their own thoughts.

A good content strategy will help you keep up with these sites. It will also help you to properly allocate time between research and writing your article, or getting it written. We have free lessons on content creation that can give you some tips.

Anime Affiliate Programs: Killer Earnings or Total Dud?

It’s more of somewhere in between. And then some. But you do get to do what you want to do: watch and talk about anime. And for most who are engaged in the anime niche, that’s more than enough.

Promoting anime affiliate programs will not make you a ton of cash. But it won’t put you under either. This is one of those niches that you do for the sheer love of the niche itself, and not really for its earning potential.

The commissions are good, but not good enough when you think about the kind of competition you’ll be going up against. From what I’ve seen most websites on this niche make money from AdSense, more than any of the affiliate programs featured here. With the traffic they get on their sites, it may not be so bad at all, considering that these bloggers are doing it for the love of anime, not love of profit.

There are small, personal anime websites that thrive despite the competition, as the anime niche appears to be more of a robust community than cutthroat competition. That doesn’t mean you should let your guard down. As with any affiliate marketing endeavor, you want to get as big a portion of the niche’s target market as possible to get more sales, so work on those link-building and marketing strategies.

If you’re an anime fan who wants to build a site and talk about what you love, then go for it. The commission you’ll get for promoting the anime affiliate programs here will be enough to cover for the hosting and domain name fees over time. Maybe you’ll get more.

Those who are new to affiliate marketing and thinking of going into this niche might want to reconsider. Don’t go into this unless you have a genuine interest in anime; otherwise, you’ll struggle with creating content for your site, and in this niche, you need to do that pretty much on a regular basis. You’ll also find it difficult to connect if you’re only feigning interest.

If you already have an anime website and are getting considerable traffic… Well, what are you waiting for? Monetize the site and get more from watching anime than just viewing pleasure!

The global online gaming market has been on an upward trajectory, growing consistently in revenue since it began in the early 90s. It earned an estimated US$18B in 2020. The pandemic even gave the gaming industry a boost as people turned to various digital entertainment channels to ease boredom during those long lockdowns.

Marketing Gameplan

Level up on your link building strategy to get as many gamers on your website

And now we come to the challenging task of link building and inbound marketing. This, like content creation, can be outsourced to professionals – for a fee. If you have the resources, then go ahead and outsource. Still, make sure you have at least a basic understanding of how SEO, link-building and marketing work so that you will be able to monitor the link-building work being done on your site.

Outsourcing or not, make sure to have a link building strategy in place. You can hand this over to the person who will do the link building for you. At the very least, you have a guide to refer to when it’s time to drive traffic to your site.

Social Media Marketing

Facebook has started streaming games from within their platform. Engage these game streamers and their followers by watching the streams and commenting. Make sure to post timely updates and relevant info then link it back to your own website.

The more traffic you get to your website, the higher the chances of making a sale.

Content Strategy

You would think that having a site about online games, you won’t need to bother much with content. But you do, because there’s plenty to know about a game. Like a good strategy on how to get past a difficult level, for one thing. A review of a new game is something gamers frequently look out for, too.

Content strategy is about having a game plan for your site’s content, from research until the content is published on your site. Having a plan gives you time to think about the kind of content to present on your site in between updates.

Blog and Forum Commenting

This method is time consuming, but the effects are long-term, making the effort well worth it. There are plenty of gaming forums you can frequent to interact with fellow gamers and offer recommendations.

It’s a great place to learn about the online gaming niche, too. You can find out what games have a lot of followers, and which keywords are frequently used in relation to specific games.

Gaming Affiliate Programs: No Child’s Play

It’s more of The Queen’s Gambit. Strategy is the name of the game.

With all that competition, the online gaming niche is definitely no child’s play. This is a niche that requires careful planning and strategy. All niches do, but all the more for this niche because: one, there are plenty of gaming sites out there that will most likely have similar content to yours, so you need to be creative on the content you will publish on your site; two, you need to be smart with link building and how you drive traffic to your site. Don’t just bring people into the site, bring people who are interested in playing and subscribing to games.

So, no, this niche is not for the faint-hearted. The commissions you’ll get are good. But if you’re looking for something more substantial than a few dollars a sale, then this is not the niche for you.

But if you have a site about games or gaming, and have not monetized it, then take your pick from the above. It’s never too late to start earning from your website.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s Niche of the Week! Would you be interested in going into this niche? Are there any niches you want featured here? Just leave a comment and let me know!

Don’t Be a Statistic! Your Quick Guide to Avoiding Common Online and Affiliate Marketing Scams in 2022

As common as the scams we listed down here is the misconception that affiliate marketing is a scam too. With all the affiliate marketing courses out there telling you that there is plenty of money to be made through affiliate marketing matched with the number of people and reviews saying they earned nil through the same methods, it does throw a shade over affiliate marketing to say the least.

The hundreds of legit affiliate programs we recommend and promote here in Affilorama should be proof enough that affiliate marketing is far from being a scam.

Affiliate marketing is a legit industry that even popular influencers are  earning money out of.

Before going into common affiliate marketing scams, I suggest you check out our beginner lessons on affiliate marketing. These lessons will help you define what affiliate marketing is, what it entails and how you can get started on it.

GI Joe wasn’t messing when he told us “Knowing is half the battle.” Arming yourself with a clear definition of what affiliate marketing is will make it easier for you to spot what isn’t and what is just another scam dressed as affiliate marketing.

Common Online and Affiliate Marketing Scams

Scams are not limited to affiliate marketing, or the internet. It is everywhere. As the ‘’Get Rich Quick” episode of Netflix’s docuseries “Money Explained” says: scams have existed longer than the internet, and we still keep falling for it.

So we’re not limiting this list to common affiliate marketing scams, but extending it to include other deceitful money-making methods the pollute the internet.

1. Misleading Affiliate Marketing Training Courses and eBooks

It’s mostly those new and eager to do affiliate marketing that fall for misleading affiliate marketing training programs. There are free lessons on affiliate marketing available, but most of us, particularly those that are starting out, prefer a more in-depth course, maybe a bit of handholding, if possible.

Totally understandable. Affiliate marketing is like any business that you need to learn and invest money on.

This is also why we get sucked into buying one course after one eBook after another.

And there’s plenty of people online who are more than willing to sell you a course, an e-book, a webinar and various other kinds of information. They’re practically everywhere online from ads to Facebook and of course, Youtube.

Many of these training programs are often nothing more than a rip-off. You don’t actually learn anything useful and you’re out whatever money you spent. At the most, you might get an e-book that is full of fluff and no real, actionable lessons.

Not all training courses and eBooks on affiliate marketing are fake or are a scam. There are courses that truly give value, but you need to do your homework. Hold off buying until after you have done a bit of research either on the course, or the people behind it.

2. Get-Rich-Quick Offers

The oldest and possibly the most common of all scams. As mentioned at the start of this section, get-rich-quick schemes have been around way before the internet and still persists today because we all still fall for it.

A scheme that is not limited to affiliate marketing but it’s these get-rich-quick offers that give it such a bad rap. They promise you will make thousands of dollars overnight, or that you can just work 2 hours a day and have $5,000 in your bank account at the end of the week.

It sounds so good we end up reaching for our wallets. Every time.

Conversely, the promise of instant gain for the least amount of work that these get-rich-quick schemes are known for is the singular, prominent red flag to watch out for. Any “secret” method or training program that promises you will earn a huge profit over a short period of time is a sign for you to take a step back and dig deeper.

Legitimate affiliate marketing takes a bit of time to learn and while you will make money from it, it doesn’t happen overnight. You need a strategy and you need to implement it well before you make any income.

Again, this is where having a clear idea of what affiliate marketing is and how it works helps.

3. No or Fake Product/Service to Sell

This scheme is as pervasive as get-rich-quick offers that a friend or family member may have fallen victim to it, if you haven’t yourself.

And it’s not just affiliate marketing that gets a bad name because of this scam. Multi-level marketing has been synonymous with it, and they have both been around way before the internet and affiliate marketing.

The way this scheme works is you are shown a product or service that you buy along with an investment into the company. In order to move up, you need to get more people on board in exchange for additional commission. The money just gets passed around, and you’re not likely to see yours multiply in the long term as promised.

In affiliate marketing, affiliate marketers make their money by promoting someone else’s product or services. If a company is promising you thousands of dollars in income, look closer. What is it that you’re actually selling? If there is no actual product or service, it’s nothing more than a scam.

These affiliate marketing “opportunities” are designed like pyramid schemes where no one is actually making any money. You make an investment to join the program and after that, money is just passed around from one person to the next. These schemes are totally illegal! You will lose your investment, and you’re not going to make any affiliate income from it, either.

Then there are the affiliate programs that do show a product or service but the product or survive seems too good to be true. No negative reviews? Guaranteed results each time?

Better do a background check on that product or service before promoting it.

One sure way to avoid this is to go directly to the main website of the product or service, and see if they do have an affiliate program. Maybe get in touch with the support team and ask.

Another option is to make sure that you only join established affiliate networks. This way, you are assured that the products and services you will promote are 100% legit.

4. Pay-To-Join Programs

Then and now, real, legitimate affiliate programs are still free to join. An authentic affiliate program is risk-free for affiliates. Just take a look at our recent post on beauty affiliate programs. All 100 of the affiliate programs listed there are free to join.

Our list of high-paying affiliate networks is another great example that affiliate networks and programs don’t require any fee to sign up. Some affiliate networks require a website. Maybe they prefer experienced affiliate marketers. But no legitimate affiliate network will ask you to pay a fee to join their network.

If you are asked to pay a fee to join, steer clear. It is most likely an illegal multi-level marketing scheme.

5. Domain Name Scams

This was a popular scam doing the rounds a couple of years ago, and you would still see this from time to time. Say you owned the domain abc.com. You would receive an email (usually from China) telling you that someone is trying to register the domain name abc.cn in China. They are emailing you out of concern as they have noticed you own the .com domain. They want to make sure your trademark is protected in China.

If you fall for the blatant lie, they will tell you that as the original owner of the particular business name, you have the right to register the abc.cn domain name with them first. You will be sent a price list and they will make money off you by making you purchase a domain name that you didn’t ever need.

There are a few other variations of this type of scam like telling you that search engines like Google have blocked your domain name, so beware of any random emails concerning your domain names. If you are unsure, get in touch with the company you registered your domain name with.

6. Phishing

Another scam that remains prevalent, and one that is like a gift that keeps on giving.

You open a seemingly secure and legit email from a bank, a colleague, or company you do business with. They are asking you to click on a link to verify your information, renew your password or to download what you thought is a valid and secure document.

You click the link and a malware gets installed, or your private information or identity is stolen. You then start seeing purchases you didn’t make, emails you didn’t send, and a whole slew of other security issues.

There are now ways to limit or prevent this but still, be wary of emails you open and links you click. As there are people who are committed to making the internet a safe place by creating systems and checks to keep phishing and other online scams from wreaking havoc, so are there people on the other side devoted to doing otherwise.

7. Cryptocurrency Scams

Cryptocurrency, like affiliate marketing, is not a scam, but as with affiliate marketing, there are scams within and surrounding it that makes it look to the ordinary person as one big phony money-making endeavor.

The biggest cryptocurrency scam so far this year is influencers recommending various cryptocurrencies and related apps to their audiences. The value of the crypto goes up and the same influencers sell theirs, taking advantage of the higher rates.

The hype dies down, leaving nothing for the people who bought into it.

8. Impersonator Scams

Yet another unlawful money-making scheme that has been going around before people were ever online. Popular public figures and celebrities are name-dropped; their images or likeness used to capture attention and gain a following. Scammers would then ask for a certain amount in exchange for something, but never deliver what was promised.

Take for example that cryptocurrency event that an Elon Musk impersonator pulled, sending people to a link where they need to send in an amount in cryptocurrency within a specific timeframe and they will get twice that amount back.

There were red flags, the most prominent of which was being asked to send over or spend money in order to “win” or get something back.

Be wary of online contests, and if you are tempted, be sure to check on the people behind the contest. If they start asking for money, then think it several times over before joining.

9. Online Romance Scams

Getting our heart broken after all the love, time and effort we put in the person and the relationship makes it feel like one big scam. But this one goes a lot more than that.

Online romance scams empty your wallets, too.

Like a tale as old as time itself, you meet Prince Charming through a Facebook group, or an online community. You two are a hit; chatting day and night.

Then he runs into some trouble and you’re the only one who could help. Or maybe he is finally going to come visit you but needs a few more bucks for his trip; maybe you could loan him some and he’ll pay you back when he gets there?

Or maybe it’s a sexy photo he wants. Or a video call in your lingerie.

Whatever his “requests” might be, think twice before giving in. You don’t really know personally who is behind that phone. And even if they do show their faces, it’s easy enough to change names and identities online.

So beware.

10. Covid-19 Scams

Unscrupulous individuals have not let the current pandemic past. They are capitalizing on the current situation to exploit the unwary among us.

These scams work similar to phishing. You get a text, call or email letting you know you need to verify your information in order to receive your stimulus or government assistance check. It can also masquerade as your health insurance or Medicare provider asking to complete forms in order to continue their coverage.

All these have only one goal: to get your personal information.

Once they have your personal details, it’s easy enough to get access to everything else related to you.

Just like with phishing scams or any scam for that matter, stopping and taking a step back to double-check will save you from getting caught in a scammer’s net.

How to Avoid [Affiliate Marketing] Scams

You’ll find that the same things that you will do to avoid getting caught affiliate marketing scams are the same things that will help you avoid becoming an online scam statistic.

The rule of thumb before signing up for any affiliate program or affiliate training course is to do your due diligence. There are some well known and reputable programs and courses in the industry (including ours!) but when you’re new, it’s hard to tell.

Generally, it’s those products with dollar bills, numerous ads, lengthy and sensational copy, and lots of redirects that will signal not just affiliate marketing scams, but any scam. There is a consistent “spammy” look to these scams and these are what you should watch out for.

In saying that, a clean-looking, professional website doesn’t mean a 100% legit affiliate program or training course. Follow some of the tips we mentioned above in spotting the above common scams.

Here’s a few more suggestions:

Stop, Look and Listen

It’s easy to get caught up in our excitement and join just about any affiliate marketing program or course that comes our way.

Don’t. Stop, look and listen.

There are usually free webinars you can join that discuss these courses and programs. Before even attending the free webinar, look up the people speaking in the event. Check out reviews of the course they are promoting.

If there isn’t much information yet, then be sure to ask your questions during the webinar. Reach out to their support team if necessary.

Get as much information you can before deciding if the course is for you or not.

Be Aware

A certain level of awareness will give an added layer of protection against online scams. Read through an email thoroughly before clicking on any links. Check who it’s from and the actual email address it is coming from. If anything looks dubious, don’t open or click on any of the links.

Always remember that companies will never ask for your personal information over phone, email, chat or text.

If you’re being asked to hand over money within a limited time, or else…  then maybe you it’s better to sit out until after you have done your research.

Ask Google

Yes, Google, in this instance, is your best friend.

The easiest way to find out the legitimacy of any affiliate program or training course is to Google it. If it’s a well known scam, you will more than likely see reports about it online. If you can’t tell just by searching for the name, try searching for variations, such as “[affiliate program name] scam” or “[affiliate program name] ripoff.” You can also search for “[affiliate program name] reviews,” etc.

Check out affiliate marketing forums and blogs. What courses do other affiliate marketers recommend? What courses are they saying to avoid?

You can find all these by asking Google.

The Company Website

In the unlikely case of Google not giving you as much information as you want, head straight to the company website. Legitimate companies in the affiliate marketing industry always have professional websites. If this is not the case, it should raise a red flag for you.

Don’t hesitate to reach out and inquire. Send an email or chat with a support representative if you can.

Genuine Commission Percentage

As an affiliate, you will make money off commissions. If a company is offering a ridiculously high commission percentage, don’t believe it straight away. It’s not impossible (some programs really are quite generous), but it’s better to do your research and see if they really pay out their affiliates. Also, make sure the products and services they offer are genuine and of good quality.

You’d usually find these being discussed in popular affiliate marketing forums and blogs. If you are intent on pursuing affiliate marketing, then join in and read through the various information before buying a course or joining a program.

If It’s Too Good To Be True

Anything that is too good to be true, generally is.

That is  to say, you are better off being suspicious about a course or program. Be wary of unrealistic offers, easy money schemes and any businesses (especially foreign) offering to help you with something out of the blue.

Use your common sense and you have nothing to worry about. There are hundreds of genuine and completely legitimate ways to make money as an affiliate. Be aware of the affiliate marketing scams, but don’t let them keep you up at night!

Flex It!

You have to flaunt it, flaunt it! Flex those marketing muscles and drive traffic to your fitness website.

A lot of affiliate marketers get stuck in building the website, but a whole lot more get buried in the marketing hole.

Before you even get that website up, have a think of the ways you’re going to be driving traffic to it because there is no point to having an affiliate marketing website, if you can’t get people to visit and buy through you.

So have a marketing strategy laid out. It doesn’t have to be set in stone, but have at least a list of what you’ll do to get traffic to the site once it is up.

Here’s a few you might want to add to your list:

Content Strategy

What articles will you be writing about, or paying someone to write about? How about social media; what kind of content will you post there?

Marketers keep saying content is king, and for good reason: you want your content to be out there, viral and engaging, driving people to your website or your social media accounts.

Because the more people you have on your website, the higher the chance you’ll have to end up with a couple of sales in the day.

It circles back to having good content, and you need a good content strategy so you are assured of never running out of articles to share and content to post.

Check out our lessons on content creation to know more about producing effective content for your affiliate marketing website.

Blog and Forum Commenting

Yes, the age-old blog and forum commenting. They still work, and one of the great things in the fitness niche is you’ll find plenty of groups and communities to join.

Blog and forum commenting is not limited to that anymore these days. It’s about engagement in social media platforms like Facebook , Instagram and Twitter too. So you can follow the who’s who in the fitness industry and comment away in their posts.

While it does not bring in traffic as much as other marketing methods do, blog and forum commenting is a great way to increase you and your website’s online presence.

And that is never a bad thing.

Link Baiting

As there are plenty of fitness communities to join, there are also a lot of other websites and other affiliate marketers trying to get the same traffic as you.

You can turn this to your advantage by going into the more popular websites and asking about the possibility of guest posting, or maybe link back to an infographic you made or another viral piece of content on your website.

This method doesn’t require any financial investment. If there is, it’s going to be minimal at most. What it does require is time and effort. Lots of it. You’ll be rejected more times you’ll ever care to count, but the backlinks you’ll get and additional traffic they bring is worth it.

Wrapping Up

The cooldown on the fitness niche: Is all that work worth it?

The fitness niche, just like the weight loss and muscle building niches, is lucrative. Some of the commission rates of the fitness affiliate programs listed here aren’t that high, but given the prices of these products, a 5% commission may well be over $100.

So the potential to earn a considerable amount is there.

What you really need to worry about is getting signed on as an affiliate of these brands. Some of them want affiliates that have already gathered a following, or have a website with a steady traffic of their target markets.

With a high earning potential, there’s bound to be plenty of competition in the fitness niche. Take a look at possible ways to promote your content. It’s best to have a list of it even before you have your website built so you can jump right into promoting driving traffic to your website as soon as it is up.

There is no doubt you can earn money in the fitness niche, but be sure to brace yourself for the competition. Arm yourself with a solid marketing strategy to promote your website; get as much traffic to convert on your website, and you’ll be sure to earn some big bucks in this niche.

Profitable and Evergreen Niches for Affiliate Marketers in 2022

Compendium.

A word bigger than its own description: a collection, compilation, treasury, digest.

It brings to mind a huge repository of everything that is, and related to, one subject. In this case, evergreen affiliate marketing niches.

Post Contents

It’s quite lofty to say that this is the best of the best in all the lists out there of top affiliate marketing niches and top affiliate marketing programs. No, this is not that, although the affiliate marketing programs listed here have been carefully chosen from among many “top” lists.

What sets this large list of affiliate programs apart from the rest is that these are from proven “evergreen” niches, those niches that will always be lucrative because they will always have a steady-buying market.

Brace yourself for a lengthy read… Here are the top evergreen niches in affiliate marketing and their affiliate programs.

Health and Fitness

Even before 2020 and Covid-19,  the health and fitness niche has always been one giant niche that includes several evergreen sub-niches: weight loss, muscle building, diet plans, nutrition, wellness… Anything and everything that has to do with losing weight and staying fit are part of this huge niche. This is one of those niches where you can start off with a sub-niche and then branch off to include other sub-niches. You can begin with its most popular, and arguably most profitable, weight loss sub-niche, and include diet and nutrition affiliate programs on your website.

Outside of affiliate marketing, the health and fitness market is one of the largest industries, valued at an estimated US$4.75 trillion. Despite the impact of the pandemic, the industry is still expected to grow 6 to 8%.

Social media and the emergence of preventative health care has helped boost the health and fitness niche. Fitness instructors and gurus are no longer confined to a fitness club or gym. They are on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, sharing their fitness routines, their activewear, their diet plans. They are sharing (and showing off for their sponsors) their active, healthy lifestyle and their influence gave rise to more health-conscious consumers.

As this niche is huge, affiliate programs abound. Sub-niches help to categorize these programs and provide websites a specific focus.

Below are some of the popular sub-niches in the health and fitness industry and their respective affiliate programs:

Weight Loss

Weight loss in itself is a big niche. It includes weight loss programs, supplements, equipment, and eBooks. We’ve featured weight loss affiliate programs and fitness affiliate programs before in the Affilorama Blog, and the few affiliate programs mentioned there are still active. Here are a few more that are worth looking into:

Diet and nutrition covers “healthy eating”, not just for weight loss, but for overall wellness and healthful living. You’ll find nutrition supplements in this category, along with different diet plans like keto and paleo.

Most of the products you’ll find in this sub-niche are supplements, but unlike the diet/nutrition supplements, these are specific to building muscle mass.

We’ve featured bodybuilding affiliate programs before, and below are a few more to look into:

Self-Help

As a niche, self-help is similar to health and fitness in many ways: both are booming industries with self-help industry growth predicted to be at US$13.2 billion by 2022; both are about improving the self, and living the best life you possibly can with a healthy lifestyle and a robust mindset.

A healthy mindset is not what initially comes to mind when “self-help” is mentioned though. It brings to mind anxiety and depression as these are the leading mental disorders. At its core, self-help is self-improvement. It is the various ways we can grow mentally and spiritually. While you’ll find books and courses on helping curb anxiety and depression, you’ll also find ones on affirmations and on laws of attraction as featured on our post on spiritual affiliate programs, and on how to gain self-confidence like these self-esteem affiliate programs. There are even products on time management to help us be more productive individuals. Hence, time management affiliate programs. Yoga is also part of the self-help niche as it is not so much as a weight loss journey as it is a spiritual one as I found out when I did my research on yoga affiliate programs.

This is yet another Life lesson that 2020 dished out: we, as humans, are wired to want to be with others of our kind.

While you may not be suffering from anxiety or depression,  you can be one of the many who are suffering from a break up, divorce, or rejection from someone you are seriously crushing on. Thus, the dating and relationship niche continues, and will continue to be one of the biggest niches in affiliate marketing.

Online dating has evolved to be a worldwide phenomenon and a million-dollar industry with earnings of over US$912 million. It is a fast-growing industry with over 1,500 dating apps or websites competing to help you find “the One”.

Once you get “the One”, the game shifts to making sure “the One” stays and so there are books upon books on relationships, on how to make him or her happy, how to satisfy, to have and to keep.

And when love has run its course, we have courses and books on how to get over “the One”, to get over divorce and to start dating again. Or… you could try and get your ex back. There are books and online courses to guide you in getting back together with an ex.

It can be vicious; this cycle of loving and losing, but that is love. And love as a business is a tale as old as time. Back then, matchmakers were hired (old school dating apps/websites), and marriages were contracted. Nothing much has changed. We still go to a matchmaker and marriage is still a contract.

This niche is huge and evergreen enough that we have featured several of its sub-niches: dating sites affiliate programs, dating advice affiliate programs and get your ex back affiliate programs.

Travel and Tourism

“Where do broken hearts go?” the great diva Whitney Houston once asked.

Well, in this day and age of seatsales and AirBnBs… anywhere.

And while the Covid-19 pandemic has clearly put a damper on the travel and tourism industry causing lockdowns in major cities resulting in massive flight cancellations and loss revenue, the industry is slowly getting back up again as all of us adapt to the “new normal” this 2021.

Technology has helped propel the travel and tourism industry into one of the strongest industries with an economic contribution of over US$9.2 trillion. Plane tickets can now be booked online, including hotel rooms, even entire vacations, all within a few clicks on your computer or swipes on your mobile phone.

The travel and tourism industry is a giant umbrella of related industries all offering services: hotel, rentals, airlines. Your typical modes of transportation like buses and trains are all part of it too. We’ve covered airline affiliate programs and cruise affiliate programs. As sure as there are plenty of places to see, there are plenty more affiliate programs to look into in the travel niche:

Beauty and Skincare

I should have named the niche “cosmetics” as that is its appropriate name. But “beauty” and “skincare” sound better, and are more familiar words than “cosmetics”.

This niche covers makeup, fragrance, lotion… anything you put on your face and body to make you look your best is in this niche. Even the grooming that goes into your appearance: hair salons, waxing salons, spas, barber shops. They are all part and parcel of the beauty industry.

This niche has grown since we covered beauty affiliate programs, and as with all other industries, suffered losses in 2020. Still, estimates show that this industry earned US$93 billion in the US alone. Globally, this industry is predicted to reach a value of US$438 billion by the year 2026.

We also did a post on anti-aging affiliate programs, and there is still plenty more ground to cover in this niche, like the proverbial get rid of acne sub-niche.

Fashion

As Miranda Priestly scathingly said to Andy in The Devil Wears Prada: “However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and it’s sort of comical how you think that you’ve made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you’re wearing a sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room from a pile of stuff.”

Like Andy, we might think that all clothes are the same; just pieces of cloth to cover our backs. We might scoff at shopaholics who go into debt buying shirt after shirt. But at the end of the day, we buy clothes still because we have to. It is a basic need that even Maslow himself recognized.

The fashion industry has been around for as long as the beauty industry has been, maybe even longer. Worldwide, the fashion industry earned US$718 million, with apparel as its largest segment. Clothing is not just clothing as there are different sub-niches you can go into, like plus-size clothing affiliate programs and organic clothing affiliate programs.

Fashion is from head-to-toe. It’s not all in the clothes, but the bags, shoes and accessories that help you be your own fashion icon. We did a number on jewelry affiliate programs, but have yet to touch on bags and shoes.

We’ve featured toy affiliate programs  and toy collectible affiliate programs, but there are still

more affiliate programs to promote with children and their parents as target market like parenting advice affiliate programs.

Food

Comedienne Dulce Sloan started one of her jokes with “I was at the grocery store the other day buying food… cause I’m a human.” explains this entire niche. Food, as a niche, as an industry, is evergreen in that, as Dulce and my mother put it: we’re humans and we need to eat. In fact, we have evolved to not just need it but want it too.

If your own consumption and the vast and varied fast food joints and restaurants within your reach have not convinced you how lucrative this niche is, then let the numbers speak for themselves. This industry remained strong despite the pandemic, with earnings estimated to reach US$276 million by 2021. Annual fast food revenue in the US alone is valued at US$239 billion last year.

We featured several Niche of the Week posts related to, or about, food: cooking affiliate programs, baking affiliate programswine affiliate programs, and coffee. We even published one on  food crisis affiliate programs.

The affiliate programs you’ll find in this niche are as varied as your daily food options.

Making Money

Like children, there is no “make money industry”, but there is such a niche and it is made up of different niches that help you make money online. There are courses on dropshipping, affiliate marketing, internet marketing and the like that you can promote. Web hosting companies and domain registers have affiliate programs too, and you can include them in your product lists because most of the “make money online” methods require having your own website.

I do not have statistics to show as this niche is not one big industry as the other niches I’ve mentioned, but if you do a quick check on Affilotools, Traffic Travis or Google Trends, you’ll see the “make money online” keyword has high search numbers and equally high competition.

We’ve featured shopping cart affiliate programs for those who are into eCommerce. We also did one on SEO affiliate programs since SEO plays an important role in getting organic traffic.Below are a few more courses and tools you may recommend to those who want to make money online.

Pets

Whenever my kids would ask for a baby brother, I would jokingly reply “I’ll get you a dog instead.” To my mind that is a cheaper, definitely pain-free, way of adding another member to our family.

One that I do not have to send to college.

We eventually did get a dog. A cute male apricot-colored toy poodle. He is adorable, active, loyal. And boy, is he expensive! Monthly grooming, routine check ups, vaccines, food and accessories. Pets are a great addition to the family, but they add up to the family expenses too.

Despite the added cost they bring, the pet industry is on the rise. Its revenue reached US$99 billion in the US alone last year, and it is expected to climb up to US$358 billion by 2027. This industry is probably one of the few industries that not only remained stable during the pandemic, but even earned more.

Your eyes must be bugging out by now as mine are. Or not, if you skipped to read only the information you need. Kudos and big thanks if you didn’t and read through!

Now that you are aware of how many niches there are, the next question is: Which one do I pick? Which niche do I go to?

I say go with the one that you have a natural interest in. If anything, this compendium of affiliate marketing programs show that there is an affiliate program to cover whatever your natural interests are. Going with what you are interested in will make it much easier for you to invest time and energy into your website.

Remember what they say about doing what you are passionate about will ensure that you do not work a day in your life? That applies in affiliate marketing too. It’ll be easier to read, learn and write (if you have to) about things that you are interested in versus doing it for the sake of money. You can argue that is enough motivation, but that doesn’t last long. There are plenty of challenges in getting your affiliate marketing website off the ground. Working on something that you care about will make it worthwhile.

And with that, let’s do what Mark Ling always says to do at the end of his lessons: Take action!

20 High Paying ClickBank Alternatives for 2022: A List of Top Affiliate Networks

Affilorama is often confused as an affiliate network. While our members are mostly affiliates, and we do have our own affiliate program, we are not an affiliate network.

Like Affilorama, an affiliate network has affiliates for members. Unlike us, affiliate networks have merchants or vendors, sometimes even product creators and owners, as members. Affiliate networks help merchants and product owners find affiliates to help promote their products. They also manage each merchant’s affiliate program, tracking sales and paying out commissions to affiliates.

Post Contents

ClickBank is one such affiliate network. If you’ve listened to much of my training, when it comes to showing you how to find affiliate products to promote quite often I personally refer to the ClickBank Marketplace. The reason I do this is because ClickBank approves virtually everyone (unless you are from Nigeria or some other country outside their approval zones), and they have an amazing selection of products to promote with high commissions.

The other reasons are because most of the money that I make comes from ClickBank and also because they are extremely reliable with their on time payments, and I’ve built up a good relationship with them over the years.

However, in this blog post I want to share with you a list of other alternatives to ClickBank for you to consider as I don’t want my own bias to prevent you from seeing that there is a whole world of affiliate offers to promote outside of ClickBank.

I think joining all of these other affiliate networks will be overkill, but billions of dollars in transactions are being made every year through these other networks, and many have fantastic offers that are not available at ClickBank.

I have several affiliate millionaire friends who earn the majority of their income outside of ClickBank, and you may find some of these affiliate marketing platforms very useful to join.

In no particular order, here they are:

Rakuten LinkShare ( 4.7 stars G2 )

Best for: Experienced marketers

Rakuten LinkShare offers affiliate programs from big brands, but it’s not always easy to get accepted.

About Rakuten LinkShare

They started as LinkShare in 1997, and in 2014, they were bought by Rakuten, and are now part of the bigger Rakuten Advertising. Rakuten LinkShare’s main focus is physical products. They have over 1,000 advertisers, some of them big-name brands like Guess and Walmart.

Why choose Rakuten LinkShare?

The big brands under their belt are incentive enough to want to join this affiliate network. If it’s physical products you’re wanting to promote, then Rakuten LinkShare is one of the best places you can get into.

Rakuten LinkShare offers their affiliates various tools including a user-friendly dashboard showing monthly metrics. These, along with their reporting tool, helps affiliates track their performance.

Why NOT choose Rakuten LinkShare?

You may be able to sign up quite easily with Rakuten LinkShare, but it’s a different ballgame where the advertisers are concerned. Advertisers in this affiliate network prefer a website with considerable traffic.

You have to sign-up with each individual advertiser before you can promote their products. This draws out the process, but also demonstrates that higher-quality is important here.

Affiliate Support

There is plenty of documentation to help guide you as you learn your way around the website, but there is no affiliate manager or support email address available if you need help. There is a contact form you can use instead.

Payment methods

Cash, direct deposit and PayPal. Minimum payment threshold is US$50.

Rakuten LinkShare or ClickBank?

The choice may seem easy enough. If you want to promote physical products then Rakuten LinkShare is the obvious network to go with. Digital products are more your things, then head over to ClickBank.

The clincher is how easy it would be to sign up as an affiliate to both networks. ClickBank wins this one for sure. But if you have a website with a steady stream of traffic, then give Rakuten LinkShare a go.

CJ Affiliate ( 3 stars G2 )

Best for: Beginners

CJ Affiliate by Conversant is easy to use and full of useful stats. There’s a large variety of product types to promote.

About CJ Affiliate

CJ Affiliate was founded the same year ClickBank was: 1998. It was called Commission Junction back then until they were rebranded to CJ Affiliate in 2014.

Aside from having a lengthy and established presence in affiliate marketing, CJ Affiliate boasts of a large variety of products to promote; having, give or take, 3000 merchants in their network. Some of their advertisers include Office Depot, J.Crew, and Priceline.

If you’d like to know exactly how to use CJ Affiliate by Conversant, check out the guide in our free lessons here.

Why choose CJ Affiliate?

CJ Affiliate is known for their straightforward, user-friendly dashboard affiliate dashboard.  It’s easy to filter the products here by category, serviceable area, language, currency etc… This makes it very convenient for you to find the best products to promote quickly and painlessly.

Most affiliate networks provide affiliates with a single link or code to promote an entire series of products or an entire product line. As an affiliate publisher of CJ Affiliate, you have the option of promoting individual products of each merchant.

Why NOT choose CJ Affiliate?

Like Rakuten Linkshare, you have to apply to individual advertisers, which takes more time than the instant acceptance of many other networks (such as ClickBank).

It’s usually not too difficult to get accepted by most advertisers here. You will be asked for website information including how much traffic you’re getting. You can tick the “Not Launched Yet” button and complete the signup process. It’s signing up for the higher-level merchants or advertisers that can stump you. They prefer affiliates that have a track record of generating sales and that could be discouraging to new affiliates.

While their user dashboard is easy to navigate, creating links isn’t. You choose an advertiser and instead of being able to select a product and get an affiliate link, you click towards the bottom of the main sidebar and choose which links you want from there.

Affiliate Support

There is a knowledge base or “support center” to help you. You can make use of the “Contact Support” button and send an email using their contact form, or chat with a support staff during their support hours.

They have a phone number listed, and support hours are Monday through Friday 6AM – 5PM Pacific Time.

Payment methods

Payment threshold is US$50. They do have a reputation of paying affiliates each and every month without fail. Payment options via check or direct deposits only.

CJ Affiliate or ClickBank?

They say variety is the spice of life and, with a couple of thousand merchants, CJ Affiliate can offer an affiliate so much more options. They have a solid system in place that allows you to easily track your progress and search for better affiliate offers.

ClickBank isn’t so shabby though with more payment methods available to their affiliates. The ClickBank Marketplace is also straightforward and user-friendly but is limited to digital information products.

ShareASale ( 3 stars G2 )

Best for: Beginners

ShareASale is another well-known affiliate network with a lot of product options.

About ShareASale

ShareASale is another popular alternative to ClickBank. They don’t have as many merchants as Rakuten LinkShare or CJ Affiliate. The roughly 1000 merchants they do have span physical products and software services. Definitely enough to give you options on what products to promote.

Why choose ShareASale

It’s easy to sign up with ShareASale. They don’t require a number of views or visitors, making them less intimidating to new affiliate marketers.

There is a lot of data on conversions, data, average sale, EPC, etc. These are from their pool of current affiliates so you can get a good look at the product you’re thinking of promoting.

A bonus with ShareASale is being able to add products to your “basket,” which means you can save information about merchants or products that you’d like to apply for, review, or export later on.

Why NOT choose ShareASale

It’s simple and easy to sign up for ShareASale, but it’s not the most straightforward platform for navigating the available features. Search for merchants using the “Merchants” icon at the top, then “Search for Merchants”. You can then filter via keyword, category, or a mixture of information in an advanced search.

It’s not easy to get started joining affiliate programs. You have to verify that you own your website before you can join any of them, which involves placing a key in your website’s header tag.

Affiliate Support

ShareASale has a Help Center, a knowledge base both affiliates and merchants can refer to for documentation and guidance. You also have the option of sending them a ticket or an email. You can even call them. Support is available from Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm US Central time.

Payment methods

Their minimum payout is US$50. Payment is made through check, wire and direct deposits.

ShareASale or ClickBank

Both are established affiliate networks, but again, ClickBank carries mostly digital products whereas ShareASale offers physical products that include clothing and jewelry.

While both are great for beginner affiliates, ShareASale is more stringent. Not only do you have to apply to affiliate offers individually, they have a tendency to let under-performing affiliates go without warning.

Find out more about how ShareASale directly compares to ClickBank here.

Market Health ( 3 stars Affpaying )

Best for: Beginners

Market Health is best for affiliates looking to promote physical products in health-related niches.

About Market Health

Market Health is an established affiliate network with a broad variety of health products. If ClickBank is the go-to place for digital products, Market Health is where you should head to if you’re looking to promote health and beauty products. That might seem that its offerings are limited but not so. Some of the categories include general health, weight loss, colon health, men’s health, cosmetics, health and beauty, skin care, sports nutrition and others.

Why choose Market Health

It’s super easy to sign up, and the site is extremely straightforward to use. You can browse by product category, you can look at their featured products or you can sort by country/language.

If your website topic is anything to do with the health niche, then this could be a really great network for you to use.

The health and skincare niches are profitable evergreen niches. Products in these niches will always be in demand, and Market Health makes it easy for you to access and promote the products in these niches.

Market Health offers as much as 50% commission for each sale, one of the highest for the health and skincare niche.

Why NOT choose Market Health

While it is easy to register to Market Health, there are still residents of certain countries that can’t. The same can be said of the products that you can promote in their network. Not all of these products ship internationally.

There is not much documentation or resources for affiliates. There are the usual links, but not much information on how to promote the individual products. This is going to be a bit of a challenge if you are a beginner.

Affiliate Support

There’s the standard FAQ and contact form. There is no dedicated affiliate manager but are known to take good care of their affiliates, particularly the high-performing ones. Getting approved for higher rates is relatively easy if you’ve established a good track record.

Payment methods

Payout threshold is at US$20. They pay commissions through check, wire, Skrill, and

Market Health or ClickBank

It’s easy enough to get accepted in both so it comes down to the type of products you’re looking to promote: digital products or physical products in the health and skincare niches?

ClickBank offers CPS, CPA and CPL while Market Health can only give you access to CPA and CPS programs. It’s also difficult to get a good background of the products and how they are performing in the market. Still, Market Health has one of the highest commissions for health and skincare products.

Check out the full lesson for more information on Market Health and how it compares to ClickBank.

GlobalWide Media ( 5 stars Affbank )

Best for: Experienced marketers

Previously known as Neverblue, GlobalWide Media remains as a CPA network with a great reputation, but it can be difficult to get accepted.

About GlobalWide Media

GlobalWide Media is a well- respected CPA, or cost-per-action, network. This basically means you get a commission when people go and perform an action, such as signing up or entering details into a form.

This affiliate network boasts some of the biggest names in eCommerce like Groupon, AliExpress and Hotels.com

Why choose GlobalWide Media

GlobalWide Media connects people who want traffic and leads with those who can direct it their way. They have an incredible reputation. Everywhere I’ve looked, people are very happy with the support and communication, as well as the commissions and integrity.

Affiliates of GlobalWide Media get to enjoy having a dedicated account manager who can provide you guidance on various affiliate offers and campaigns available to you in this network.

The site offers a wide variety of opportunities to choose from, and it’s known for paying correctly and on time.

Why NOT choose GlobalWide Media

The trickiest thing about GlobalWide Media is getting accepted. The site is very careful about the potential for fraud and will do a check on everyone before accepting them. In saying that, if you’ve got nothing to hide, just be honest and you’ll be fine.

Affiliate Support

You get the regular contact form to send your questions through, but this may not be necessary since you have access to account managers.

Payment methods

You can choose to receive your commissions from GlobalWide Media through PayPal, direct deposits and checks.

GlobalWide Media or ClickBank

If you’re new to the affiliate scene, then you’ll find it easier to go with ClickBank because getting into GlobalWide Media is not so.

ClickBank is into digital products as GlobalWide Media is into CPA offers so again, it might depend on which one you choose to start with: digital products or CPA offers.

GlobalWide Media might just decide it for you though because of their strict fraud and security checks on new affiliates.

Find out more about how GlobalWide Media compares to ClickBank here.

JVZoo ( 4 stars Affpaying )

Best for: Beginners

A digital product network like Clickbank, but that is where the similarity ends. JVZoo is not only younger than ClickBank, they pay commissions “instantly”.

About JVZoo

JVZoo is very similar to Clickbank in that it’s a network for affiliates and sellers based around digital products. It’s easy to navigate, and, just like with Clickbank, you can check out the marketplace to get an idea of the products you could promote before you’ve even signed up.

Why choose JVZoo

JVZoo is a great affiliate network to start with. It’s newbie-friendly so signing up and being a part of the network isn’t as difficult or intimidating compared to other big affiliate networks like it.

Similar to  ClickBank, JVZoo has a large pool of affiliates and digital products. Their main focus is MMO or Make-Money-Online products so if you have a website promoting such products, then be sure to check out what JVZoo has to offer.

In JVZoo, affiliates can get paid their commissions straight away. Not all vendors in the JVZoo network allow this so don’t expect to always have this option, but still, it’s nice to know it’s possible to get your commission up front.

Why NOT choose JVZoo

There are a lot of less-than-ideal affiliate programs on this network however. Some have terrible grammar mistakes or poorly-executed sales pages.

This doesn’t mean that you can’t succeed with JVZoo, it just means you have to carefully filter through the products before you decide to promote something on your site. This is true of any network, but especially important here.

Affiliate Support

JVZoo has the usual knowledge base and contact pages for its customers, affiliates and merchants.

Payment methods

JVZoo sends commissions through direct deposit and check. They can also send it via online methods like PayPal, Stripe and BlueSnap.

Minimum payout is US$50.

JVZoo or ClickBank

You have to be discerning when it comes to the product/s you’ll be promoting  regardless of the affiliate network, but more so with JVZoo.

If it’s digital products you’re looking to promote, then start off with ClickBank. If you don’t find what you’re looking for there, then consider JVZoo. This doesn’t mean products in JVZoo, or JVZoo itself, ranks lower than ClickBank and their products, you’d have to spend time doing background checks on the products in JVZoo more. Jump right in if you don’t mind that, but some of us would rather spend that on driving traffic to offers.

I like how Nathaniel explains it in his review, “Can You Make Money on JVZoo?,” so check that out if you’d like more information about this network.

Go to the full lesson to see how JVZoo directly compares to ClickBank.

Impact ( 4 stars G2 )

Best for: Experienced Marketers

Impact used to be Impact Radius. They have shortened the brand name, but not their impact in affiliate marketing.

About Impact

Impact is relatively young. It was established only 13 years ago by the same internet marketing experts that started Commission Junction and LeadPoint.

Impact stands out from the rest by doing away with the usual affiliate network model. They are more of a platform for advertisers and affiliates to connect and communicate than an affiliate network. Here is Impact’s own explanation on why they are NOT an affiliate network, but still included in lists like this.

They have developed their own digital marketing products and offer these along with products in travel, technology and the arts.

Why Choose Impact

Joining Impact gives you access to over 500 affiliate offers in a variety of niches. Some of their merchants include Adidas, NordVPN and Vitamin World.

The affiliate dashboard is clean and breeze to navigate. There is no extra time spent trying to figure out how to find your way around it and their marketplace.

Reporting is equally easy to access and schedule.

Why NOT Choose Impact

It’s all the technical jargon you’d encounter in the Impact that will have you scratching your head.

Accessing reports is not a problem, but getting to the data that you need without getting all other data thrown at you is.

Affiliate Support

Chat support is available. There are also phone numbers listed for their various offices around the globe.

There is the usual Help page along with a blog. They also offer free courses on affiliate marketing.

Payment methods

Get paid through ACH transfers, checks or bank transfers.

As an Impact affiliate partner, you can set your own payment threshold. The minimum is US$25, but this depends on the payment option you choose. You need to have US$100 or more in commissions before you can get paid that amount through bank transfer.

Impact or ClickBank

Signing up to Impact is as straightforward as signing up to ClickBank. But we don’t recommend you do it until you’re familiar with affiliate marketing. It will be a lot easier for you to understand how Impact and their reporting tools work when you have a firm grasp of affiliate marketing.

Get a walkthrough of how to sign up and search for products in Impact.

Amazon Associates ( 5 stars Affpaying )

Best for: Beginners

An enormous variety of products to promote, but low commissions.

About Amazon Associates

Everyone has heard of Amazon. It’s a big player in the e-tail and internet marketing games, and as an affiliate you can take advantage of this huge network.

This is probably one of the broadest networks that you could promote from, with something for nearly any niche. It’s also extremely easy and straightforward to start promoting products.

The well-known name of Amazon means that there’s a strong level of trust associated with buying from this network. This works in your favour when you promote the products here.

Amazon Associates is not an affiliate network, but an affiliate program. We are making them part of this list regardless because they are huge and arguably, one of the first to establish an affiliate program. Secondly, they make a great alternative to ClickBank, or a complement to it if you decide to promote both physical and digital products.

Why choose Amazon Associates

It’s free and easy to join. The amount of products you can promote is another incentive to join Amazon Associates.

These, on top of a solid reputation as an online store, guarantees profit regardless of what product you wish to promote.

And there is that too: finding a product to promote on Amazon is relatively easy. You can promote all of them and Amazon won’t mind.

Websites like thisiswhyimbroke.com earns just by recommending Amazon products.

Why NOT choose Amazon Associates

The downside here is that the commission rate is tiny, you have a much smaller window in which to convince people to buy (only 24 hours) and it’s hard to get approved by the network. Ideally, you need a website which already has a healthy level of traffic to get accepted, and to make it worth your while.

Amazon Associates has also been known to suspend, even terminate, accounts with no warning whatsoever. And getting reinstated is next to impossible.

Affiliate Support

You can send an email to Amazon.com Associate support, or browse through their extensive knowledge base for information.

Payment methods

You need to provide tax information to Amazon Associates in order to receive payment. This, along with your bank information, of course, as they pay through direct deposit or check.

You can also get commission in the form of Amazon.com gift certificates.

Payment threshold is US$30.

Amazon Associates or ClickBank

Signing up to both networks is easy. The difference lies in how you’re going to earn and how much.

Products are more diverse in Amazon.com, with a wide range of both physical and digital products. You’re likely to find a lot of products on Amazon that can replace products in the ClickBank Marketplace.

ClickBank trumps Amazon when it comes to commission though. But that might not matter much overall if you have plenty of traffic to convert and funnel through to Amazon.com

You can find more information or sign up for Amazon Associates here.

Check out the full lesson to see more about how Amazon Associates compares to ClickBank.

Also, read why Amazon Associates may not be your kind of affiliate network.

eBay Partner Network

Best for: Beginners

Huge variety of products, but you need a website with quality traffic to succeed.

About eBay Partner Network

eBay Partner Network is a very similar story to the Amazon Associates network. There’s a huge amount of products available for you to promote, and you get the added advantage of eBay’s credibility: People know that it’s safe to buy from eBay.

Why Choose eBay Partner Network

Joining eBay’s Partner Network is quick and painless. They don’t ask that you have tens of thousands in traffic to join, but you do need to have a website.

Like Amazon, you get access to a wide array of products to promote, and you’re backed by eBay’s strong online reputation.

Why NOT Choose eBay Partner Network

You don’t need to show your website is getting a lot of traffic but  you need that quality traffic to earn a decent commission here.

Because commission rates in eBay Partner Network are low.

Cookie duration is only 24 hours long, same as Amazon Associates.

While you do get to promote all products on eBay, you only have access to specific markets like North America and Australia.

Affiliate Support

There is support for affiliates but nothing out of the ordinary Help Center and contact form.

Payment methods

Commissions are paid monthly either through PayPal or bank transfers.

eBay Partner Network or ClickBank

Choosing should be easy enough: eBay if you want to promote physical products, ClickBank if you want to promote digital ones.

It’s probably more fitting to pit eBay against Amazon as they are more in the same league than ClickBank.

You can learn more about the commissions you can earn from the eBay Partner network here.

Check out the full lesson to learn more about how the eBay Partner Network directly compares to ClickBank.

Be sure to read through eBay Partner Network reviews from SmartBlogger and SaleHoo.

Skimlinks ( 5 stars G2 )

Best for: Beginners

Monetizing content shouldn’t be difficult, and Skimlinks makes sure that it remains so with their proprietary script that automates links.

About Skimlinks

Monetizing content through affiliate marketing is not unheard of. In fact, any good affiliate marketer will make the effort and ensure all content on their website is well and properly monetized.

This is where Skimlinks rises above the other affiliate networks on this list. Their focus is providing content writers and editorial teams get more revenue out of the content they produce.

Skimlinks works with other affiliate networks to give their publishers access to thousands of affiliate programs. It only takes a piece of code, and Skimlinks will turn your product links into affiliate links.

Why choose Skimlinks

Here is another affiliate network that doesn’t take much effort to sign up for. With the large number of affiliate programs you get access to by joining this network, it is possible to be able to promote offers that you’ve previously been declined for.

There is that script that you install on your site and it changes your product links to affiliate links, but there is a catch: it can potentially slow your website down.

The best way is the old way where you generate an affiliate link in Skimlinks, then go into your website and paste it there.

Skimlinks has a Google Chrome extension that allows you to create affiliate links as you browse through websites. Let’s say you come across a pair of earrings that you want to recommend on your fashion blog. Using the Skimlinks extension, you can check from within the same browser and page whether or not that merchant is part of the Skimlink network.

If they are, you can click “Get Link” and you have the affiliate link to promote that item.

Why NOT choose Skimlinks

Keep in mind that Skimlinks is a third-party platform that is also out to earn a profit. In exchange for using their platform, including that handy-dandy script that automatically converts product links on your website to income-generating ones, they take 25% of your income.

That does kinda give one pause, doesn’t it?

There is also the matter of getting paid itself. You don’t get a commission until Skimlinks gets paid by the advertisers.

Affiliate Support

For an affiliate network focused on content, there is not much of it in their knowledge base.  It’s “thin” at best, with a short list of guides for the four categories on the support center.

You can send them an email through their content form, but expect the turnaround to be longer than the usual, and acceptable, 24 hours.

Payment methods

If you’re based in either the US or UK, then you have the option to get paid through direct deposit. You can choose PayPal as that is another option.

International affiliates don’t get to choose. The only payment option available to you, if you are, is PayPal.

Regardless of where you are, you need to wait approximately 90 days before you can get paid. And that is only after you’ve hit the US$65 payment threshold.

Skimlinks or ClickBank

Skimlinks seems to be the affiliate network of choice by content writers, and with good reason. That automated script and Chrome extension does go a long way in making it easy for you to add monetization to your content.

There’s the easy sign up process and access to a huge number of advertisers. ClickBank offers the former, but is limited to digital products.

Commission Factory ( 3 stars Affpaying )

Best for: Beginners

Australia-based Commission Factory is a fast-growing affiliate network that helps both advertisers and publishers succeed in performance marketing through user-friendly interfaces and up-to-date tracking technology.

About Commission Factory

Their website proclaims Commission Factory as the “#1 Performance Marketing Network in Asia Pacific”.

That lofty claim is up for debate but Commission Factory is a performance marketing network based in the Asia Pacific.

There is practically no review or wait time to get accepted to this network. While you do have to spend time poring over support guides and FAQs, they do provide you with as much information you will ever need to start your affiliate marketing journey.

Why choose Commission Factory

That Commission Factory gives you access to a large number of products or that it’s super easy to sign up to their network is nothing new on this list.

What does separate this affiliate network from the others here are the free events that Commission Factory regularly hosts for their merchants and affiliates.

Affiliates are also provided training even though it is only through their support center. Still, coupled with their easy sign-up process, they are a great start for affiliate beginners.

Why NOT choose Commission Factory

Affiliates who are looking for a range of promotional tools or a more up-to-date affiliate dashboard will find Commission Factory lacking in these areas.

Affiliate Support

Commission Factory is no different from other affiliate networks in having an extensive knowledge base.

You have the option to call one of their offices or send them an email.

Payment methods

Minimum payment threshold is US$50. Commissions are paid weekly through PayPal.

Commission Factory affiliates can also choose to get paid through local (Australian) bank deposits or international bank deposits.

Commission Factory or ClickBank

With both networks being extremely beginner-friendly, it’s going to come down to which products you’re looking to promote. You might find variety in Commission Factory’s product line-up, but ClickBank does score more on longevity and dependability.

MoreNiche ( 4 stars Affpaying )

Best for: Beginners

If making more money in the health, beauty and fitness verticals is what you’re looking for, then look no further than MoreNiche.

About MoreNiche

Since it started in 1999, MoreNiche has continuously grown to offer guaranteed commissions for its pool of affiliates. This means that they don’t wait for merchants to pay up before sending affiliates their commissions.

MoreNiche is all about developing relationships with their affiliates and so they hold regular affiliate marketing and Mastermind events.

Why choose MoreNiche

MoreNiche is one of the few affiliate networks that offer a dedicated affiliate mentor. As soon as you become a MoreNiche affiliate, you get the option to set a call with an affiliate mentor. This is a huge help to beginners which MoreNiche gladly welcomes into their network.

The affiliate mentor offers guidance and assistance. There are products that you will only be able to unlock after speaking with a mentor.

That is how essential, and helpful, they are to the MoreNiche system.

Why NOT choose MoreNiche

You’ll find the products here are limited to weight loss, fitness and health niches. If these are what you’re looking to promote, then great.

But you’ll probably find yourself looking at other affiliate networks with similar verticals like MarketHealth to supplement or add to the products in MoreNiche so you’ll get a variety of affiliate offers to promote on your website.

Affiliate Support

On top of the affiliate mentor, there are  informative FAQs.  There is also the standard contact form but this is more for initial inquiries rather a form for affiliates to contact support.

Payment methods

Payment threshold is possibly the highest among affiliate networks at US$100, but they do pay commissions every two weeks.

You can choose to receive payments through Payoneer, Skrill, Bitcoin,  and Paxum. These are same-day payments so while you may have to wait long to reach that payment threshold, you don’t wait any longer to get the money in your account.

If you’re from the UK, you can opt for same-day bank transfers. International affiliates can choose wire transfer but this can take up to 7 business days.

There are three currencies you can choose to get paid in: US dollars, British pounds or Euros.

MoreNiche or ClickBank

It’s probably more appropriate to compare MoreNiche with MarketHealth since both have offers in similar niches.

MarketHealth or ClickBank, MoreNiche definitely falls short when it comes to the number of affiliate offers available to promote.

Neither gives you access to an affiliate mentor from the get-go though and that’s where signing up with MoreNiche is more compared with other affiliate networks.

Avangate ( 4 stars G2 )

Best for: Beginners

ClickBank is to digital products as Avangate is to software products. Only Avangate has a whole lot more software products.

About Avangate

Avangate started in 2006, primarily as a company selling software products on a global scale. This led to them helping other software companies sell around the world.

Fast forward to 2017, Avangate buys 2Checkout to offer flexible payment options and widen their market reach. At around the same time, they rebranded themselves to 2Checkout.

Verifone bought 2Checkout last year and is now collectively known as Verifone. Avangate Affiliate Network continues to operate under Verifone.

Why choose Avangate

Arguably the largest software affiliate network offering access to 22,000 software products.

Being a software affiliate network, you can expect some powerful affiliate and reporting tools that will help you create affiliate links, track them and view conversion data. Avangate certainly delivers in that regard.

Why NOT choose Avangate

While you do get access to a huge number of products, these are software products that, more often than not, belong to specific niches. You’re not guaranteed a substantial market to promote them to so they may not be that lucrative.

Add to that the high payment threshold: US$100.

Affiliate Support

Their Help Center has eBooks, blog posts and case studies on top of FAQs. They can also be reached through their support email address.

Payment methods

Payment options include check, direct deposit, PayPal and the Avangate Mastercard. Terms are Net30 so this means a monthly payment as long as you reach the US$100 threshold.

Avangate or ClickBank

Despite the large number of products available through Avangate, they remain tied to a specific niche. Way more specific than the digital products in ClickBank’s Marketplace.

Avangate is recommended for beginners because signing up and going around their affiliate dashboard is not at all difficult, but unless your website is about software products, it might not be at all lucrative.

Sovrn//Commerce ( 3.5 stars G2 )

VigLink may have rebranded themselves to Sovrn//Commerce, but they operate pretty much the same way as before: providing content writers with monetization and reporting tools to help them make the most out of their content.

About Sovrn//Commerce

Sovrn provides popular content websites like  CNN, Thought Catalog and StarTribune with tools and services to help them make money from their content. They acquired VigLink back in 2018, and together, they created one large network of  50,000 independent websites.

VigLink is not new to the affiliate marketing scene. They have been in attendance since 2009, helping content writers monetize their articles and posts through the use of their proprietary tool that takes any merchant mentioned on a website into an affiliate link.

Why choose Sovrn

Signing up is straightforward and relatively quick despite going through the process of getting approved.

If you’re familiar with Skimlinks, then you’ll find similarities with VigLink here and there. The VigLink WordPress plugin, for example, works similarly to the Skimlink script that converts product links and mentions into affiliate links.

Aside from the tools and the

Why NOT choose Sovrn

This may not necessarily be a negative considering that Sovrn is a company that has to earn too but they take out 25% off your earnings.

They also have the longest turnaround time before getting paid: 90 days.

Affiliate Support

Similar to Skimlinks, the Help center is informative but stripped down to the absolute bare minimum.

There is a contact form where you can send them a message. If you feel it is a must, you can call through their US office.

Payment methods

Payment threshold is at US$10 if you choose PayPal as a payout option. You need to wait till you get that up to US$50 if you picked out the wire, check or direct deposit payment options.

Regardless, you’d need to wait 3 months (90 days), before you can cash your commission out.

Sovrn or ClickBank

Sovrn gives you access to a huge number of diverse advertisers. Using Svorns tools, you can easily monetize the links on your website without having to generate a link and then manually adding it into each article.

ClickBank offers higher commissions though so you’ll have to figure out if you value convenience or profit.

AvantLink ( 3.5 stars G2 )

Best for: Beginners

AvantLink’s beginner-friendly set of tools and reporting system is highly-regarded by affiliate marketers. Their overall reputation is marred with an inconsistent affiliate support.

About AvantLink

With its headquarters in Utah, AvantLink was established in 2005 and has expanded to operating separate affiliate networks in the US, Canada and Australia.

Applications to AvantLink’s network are reviewed. Typical to the other affiliate networks on this list, you need to provide traffic details on your application.

Why choose AvantLink

Plenty of merchants spread out in several categories so there’s definitely variety in their affiliate offers. You can view their list of advertisers on their websites and apply directly to each advertiser.

There is no lack of robust, user-friendly tools like custom link builder, API, data feed manager to help you create links and track conversions.

Why NOT choose AvantLink

We’d save it for the affiliate support section but the main reason not to go with AvantLink is the meager support.

Affiliate Support

There is the standard support center with a contact form where you can send a message to support.

Both make for less than substantial affiliate support. The Help center has basic information at best. Contacting AvantLink support is easy. Hearing back from them, not so.

Payment methods

Payments are made through AvantLink’s payment partner, Tipalti. Commissions are paid each month as long as you have reached the minimum US$25 threshold.

Payment options include PayPal and direct deposits.

AvantLink or ClickBank

AvantLink is a good alternative to ClickBank with its diverse list of advertisers and effective tools.

If you don’t mind navigating the AvantLink dashboard and tools, or won’t need any support at all, then go ahead and give this affiliate network a try.

Tradedoubler ( 4 stars G2 )

Best for: Experienced marketers

Tradedoubler lives up to its name: doubling the trade of both affiliates and advertisers alike by  crafting solutions specific to the individual needs and challenges of each.

About Tradedoubler

The About page of Tradedoubler sums up the growth of the company since it started 21 years ago: 15 offices with 260 employees, 2000 advertisers and over 180,000 publishers spread across 83 countries.

Tradedoubler boasts of big-name brands like HP, Groupon and Hugo Boss. They take pride in offering “bespoke solutions”; analyzing data and identifying challenges before creating tailored solutions that, as half their tagline says, grows their client’s business.

Why choose Tradedoubler

Aside from being able to access it’s more than 2,000 advertisers, Tradedoubler offers affiliates impressive tracking and linking tools. Using their technology, you can track affiliate sales even with the browser turning the cookies off.

Tradedoubler’s “Link Converter” tool is not quite unique but cool and convenient nonetheless. It works similar to the Skimlinks script where you place if on your website and it converts relevant links into affiliate links.

Why not choose Tradedoubler

Signing up is relatively easy but you need to be getting large amounts of traffic on your website before applying to this network. Since their main focus is the European market, the bulk of traffic you’re getting on your website should be from the UK or parts of Europe.

Unless you and your website are based in Europe, you’ll find it challenging to get a toe in and all things considered, it may not be worth all the bother.

Affiliate Support

Tradedoubler may have a wide reach online, but support staff are limited to the 15 offices they have that are located in various European countries. You can call or email, but again, you’ll be calling Tradedoubler office in Europe

Payment methods

Payment threshold is €30. Payment options are limited to direct deposits and Payoneer.

Tradedoubler or ClickBank

If you’re a European affiliate or if you have a website that is getting pretty good traffic from the UK and other parts of Europe, then Tradedoubler is for you.

Otherwise, there is ClickBank and a whole dozen other affiliate networks who, like Tradedoubler, will be able to connect you with profitable affiliate offers and help you grow your affiliate business.

FlexOffers ( 5 stars G2 )

Best for: Beginners

With 12,000 advertisers under their belt and a bunch of perks for their affiliates, FlexOffers has plenty to flex about.

About FlexOffers

FlexOffers hasn’t been around as long as the other, more established affiliate networks on this list. But they have been operating 13 years and counting, and have grown considerably over the years with 12,000 merchants spanning 25 categories.

What FlexOffers lacks in years they make up for in their affiliate offers, affiliate support and payment options.

Why choose FlexOffers

They are welcoming to new affiliates so signing up is free and easy. That is not something to write home about but access to several thousands of advertisers including credit card offers is.

FlexOffers has the Flex-Rev$share program where you can invite other new affiliates to join FlexShare. They go down the line as your sub-affiliate and you get paid for sales made through them.

Why NOT choose FlexOffers

Link creation and support are pretty much standard. Not a bad thing but it isn’t a great thing either particularly if you’re looking for deep linking options and solid affiliate support.

Affiliate Support

There’s the ever-dependable knowledge base. You can also call or send an email.

Payment methods

Commissions are paid within 30 days through bank transfers, wire transfers, checks or PayPal provided you meet the minimum threshold of US$50.

Top affiliates have the option of getting their commissions in a week’s time.

PayPal is  the only option for international affiliates to get paid.

FlexOffers or ClickBank

They say variety is the spice of life and FlexOffers definitely serves that up. You can further expand your list of products by adding in those from ClickBank.

While FlexOffers makes a good alternative to ClickBank, you don’t really have to choose one over the other. You can sign up to both and enjoy the best of what both networks can offer.

Pepperjam ( 4.5 stars G2 )

Best for: Beginners

From Pepperjam Exchange to eBay Enterprise Affiliate Network, they finally Ascend

About Pepperjam

Pepperjam started 20 years ago as an eCommerce business. It has evolved (and been bought twice in that time. First by eBay and, in 2020, by Partnerize) to Ascend, a fully integrated affiliate marketing platform.

Why choose Pepperjam

Signing up to their network is more or less, a walk in the park. You don’t wait long to know whether you get in or not either.

On top of the user-friendly link building tools, you get to promote big brands. Their advertiser list includes Time Inc, Nordstrom, and Lindt.

Pepperjam is one of the few affiliate networks that provide its affiliates with dedicated account managers.

Why NOT choose Pepperjam

The downside to Pepperjam has mostly to do with their limited payment options and a weird payment structure.

EPC metrics are common in affiliate marketing and in affiliate networks, but not in Pepperjam. You won’t find any public EPC metrics on their marketplace.

Affiliate Support

There are dedicated account managers to help you. You can either call them or send them an email. Live chat is also available during support hours (daytime US).

They have various resources on their website from whitepapers to guides.

Payment methods

Payment threshold is US$25 and you can get paid twice a month.

PayPal is not the only payment option, but it is the only option available during sign up.

If you want to get your commissions through direct deposit or checks, you have to send Pepperjam an email.

Pepperjam or ClickBank

Signing up is a breeze, same with ClickBank. You get access to a variety of popular brands but it’s really having an account manager within reach that makes Pepperjam a good alternative to ClickBank.

Indoleads ( 4 stars Affpaying )

Best for: Experienced marketers

Hailing from Southeast Asia, Indoleads boasts of big name advertisers like Qatar Airways, the Lazada Group, and Gearbest.

About Indoleads

Relatively new to the affiliate marketing industry, Indoleads is a fast-growing CPA affiliate network.

A “one-stop affiliate marketing solution” for affiliates and advertisers, they guarantee results by reaching set goals before accepting payments.

Why choose Indoleads

Indoleads provides its advertisers with specific campaign strategies and in turn, they get high payouts that are passed on to their publishers.

Some of their top converting affiliate programs are big names like Americanas, Tokopedias and Netshoes. They also have online store giants Lazada and Zalora.

As an affiliate, you get access to a wide range of tools to help you increase monetization within your site.

Why NOT choose Indoleads

Typical with CPA networks, you need to have a website up when submitting an application.

A working knowledge of CPA, CPL and CPS is not required but it is recommended when joining CPA networks like Indoleads.

Affiliate Support

Indoleads has no live chat agent, but there’s a contact sheet form that you must fill out if you need to reach them — or you can directly shoot them an e-mail.

They also have specific phone support numbers for different countries.

Payment methods

Indoleads ensures timely payments to its publishers. The minimum threshold is $100 and the method they use is net15 or net30.

Quick payment method is unique to Indoleads: initiate the payment by clicking the Payout button. This generates an invoice and the company easily pays it in just a few seconds. This is only available to high-tier affiliates, but it’s still a cool feature and a great incentive to become one of Indolead’s high-earning affiliates.

 Indoleads or ClickBank

ClickBank recently announced CPA on ClickBank. While this is a great addition to the affiliate network, established CPA networks like Indoleads are ahead.

Your experience with CPA or lack of it may be the deciding factor. It might also come down to the product/s you want to promote.

Awin ( 3 stars G2 )

Best for: Beginners

About Awin

Formerly Zanox, Awin has been around for more than 20 years. They have grown to 225,000 publishers since and have truly established themselves as a global affiliate marketing network with presence in various countries.

Their lengthy advertiser list includes Marks and Spencer, HP, and ASOS.

Why choose Awin

Affiliate it or not, you want to be able to go to a webpage and find the information you need as quickly as possible. Awin’s affiliate dashboard is one such webpage.

The website is user-friendly. You can pick out and sign up for affiliate programs with relative ease.

As with other affiliate networks, they come with their own set of tools that are as user-friendly as their affiliate dashboard. Their convert-a-link plugin conveniently transforms regular product  links into affiliate traffic links.

Why NOT choose Awin

Unlike most of the affiliate networks here, you pay US$5 to sign up. You get this back if you’re approved. You don’t get in, then you say goodbye to Awin and that US$5.

Similar to most of the affiliate networks on this list, you need to have a website up and running at the time that you submit your application to the Awin network.

Affiliate Support

There’s a contact form to send them an email as well as their Partner Success Center where you can browse through various knowledge base articles.

Payment methods

Minimum threshold is US$20, but Awin affiliates have the option to set the limit to a higher value.

Payments are through PayPal only.

Awin or ClickBank

Awin makes for a great alternative to ClickBank, having the same user-friendly and straightforward affiliate dashboard and tools.

You can join both networks seeing how easy it is to sign up. You’d have to risk that US$5 to join Awin though, but that pays off in the end when you start earning as an Awin affiliate.

How do I choose an affiliate network?

The product you choose to promote may decide it for you, or maybe the network’s sign up  process will, but here’s a few other things to look out for.

The above networks are just 20 of the more popular affiliate networks. There are a lot more out there, and so the bigger question will always be how do you choose an affiliate network? You may not be out to look for the best affiliate network, but with so many to choose from, how do you even narrow it down to a top 3 or top 5?

When deciding on which affiliate networks to sign up with, consider the following:

Products

You usually would sign up with a specific affiliate network because they have that specific product you want to promote. Nothing wrong with that but be sure to read the fine print.

What exactly are you signing up for aside from being able to promote that product? What other brands or products does that affiliate network carry that will make signing up really worth it?

Support

If the customers who buy the products need support, so do you as the affiliate. This makes customer and affiliate support important.

That affiliate dashboard and all those affiliate links may seem straightforward or relatively easy, but knowing that there are people you can reach out to when something is not working is more than a confidence boost.

You’d want to be able to get a hold of support representative when you didn’t get your commission on time or that it is not in the right amount.

That’s how important having affiliate support is.

Reputation

Popular doesn’t mean best, but there is something to being a famous affiliate network. It can either mean the network is great to have gotten a considerably-sized following, or it’s gotten a rep so bad people are shouting warnings from the four corners of the internet.

Do the homework and read up on the reviews. Which ones are known to pay on time and which ones don’t? Which affiliate networks provide additional affiliate support? Which ones carry the best brands?

Knowledge is definitely power; the power to choose wisely.

Tools

By “tools” we mean tracking systems, affiliate dashboards, cookie duration. All that affiliate jazz.

Cookie duration is the length of time a cookie stays in a customer’s browser. The average is 30 days. If at any time within that first click on an affiliate’s link up to 30 days (or until the customer clears their browser’s cache), the customer purchases from the store, then the affiliate gets commission for that sale.

That is why cookie duration is note-worthy.

A straightforward, easy-to-navigate affiliate dashboard is something you’d want to have because you don’t want to spend a good portion of the day finding product or merchant info, when you could be spending that getting people to click on your affiliate links.

You won’t really know about these details unless you’ve already signed up with an affiliate network so reviews like this one make the work a bit easier by letting you know what to expect.

So take the time to go read up on reviews.

Forget about all that “the best affiliate network” talk because what is the right fit for you is not going to be the same for everyone else. Take note of what to look out for and see which ones match up and suit your needs.

Regardless of any recommendations or guides out there, the choice is still entirely yours.

The “One” Myth

Depending on your individual marketing requirements, you could choose one or more of these networks to promote from.

If you’re looking for digital products, Clickbank is actually one of the best networks. It has high commission percentages and a wide variety of products to choose from, many of which are good quality.

If you haven’t found what you’re looking for with Clickbank previously, I’d try using the gravity filter to find the best niche and products for you before giving up. You can find a guide on how to get the most from Clickbank here.

Alternatively, if you’re looking for physical products, rather than the digital products of Clickbank, the best options are:

Rakuten LinkShare
CJ Affiliate by Conversant
Market Health (If you’re in a health-related niche, this is a really great option)

If none of the above are calling to you, or you just have more of an interest in CPA marketing, the best two networks to apply for are GlobalWide Media and PeerFly.

If you’ve got a lot of experience and traffic or a large social following, you may wish to try your hand with promoting via Amazon and/or eBay. It’s just about having the right audience for promoting products from these well-known sites.

You’re not restricted to any one network or platform, so you might as well try any that seem like they could be of use to you.

There are many other networks than the ones that I’ve listed above, but these are the ones that either I know others are being hugely successful in, or I have met personally with the networks and know of the quality of their organization and offers.

How to Set Up a Clickbank Account in 2023 (and where to get your affiliate links)

ClickBank is arguably one of the best affiliate marketing networks there is. If anything, it is the most popular, owing to the fact that it is open to new affiliate marketers that don’t have a website yet. Where most affiliate networks would ask about your website and how much traffic it’s getting, ClickBank only wants your personal details.

Considered as one of the pioneers among affiliate marketing networks, ClickBank is known for its wide range of digital products. They branched out to include physical products, and even launched their own training program to help budding affiliate marketers.

You’ll see in the following steps that joining ClickBank and getting started is a breeze. One thing to note though before jumping right in is that ClickBank has stringent security measures in place. You may have completed the sign up process but they do have review accounts so if you find that you’re unable to login after, get in touch with their support team.

There are also countries where ClickBank is not available. If your country is included in the list, do not despair. There are other affiliate networks that you can sign up with.

And now, here’s how to create a ClickBank account:

4 Easy Steps to Creating a ClickBank Account:

1.Go to the ClickBank website and click the button in the top part of the menu: Sign Up
2.Fill in your personal information, set up a password and then click the button: Join ClickBank

You’ll have to meet all the password requirements, otherwise, you’ll be stuck on this page.

Also, you need to click on the button to view the Terms and Conditions, scroll down to the very bottom and click on the Accept button before you’ll see a checkmark on the “I agree…”

3. You’ll get a popup to join a training program or not.

Click on the green “Yes” button and you’ll be taken to the Spark by ClickBank page. This is ClickBank’s own training program, and you can choose to join this.

If not, and you click on the “No” button, you’ll get to the ClickBank Dashboard.

On the Dashboard, you’ll get a popup about downloading a suppression list. Click on the button to download it, and you’ll get to see the entire ClickBank Dashboard.

If you get an error message, don’t panic. Hit the back button and you’ll be back on the Dashboard.

4.Complete Your Profile

On the Dashboard, you can click on the button to complete your profile. You have to put in your address and all that, or you won’t get to click on the button to save your information.

You’ll get all the bells and whistles on the sidebar once you complete your profile.

For the next few minutes or so, all you’ll be doing would be filling in your payment details and all that important stuff.

Back in the day, there’d be a survey and a confirmation email. But ClickBank has skipped all that. After registering, you immediately get taken to the ClickBank dashboard to begin your affiliate marketing journey.

5. Set up an “Account Nickname”

Once upon a time, setting up an account with ClickBank means getting a ClickBank username at the onset.

These days, it’s something you do after.

Click on the “Account” tab.

It’s pretty much straight forward from here on. Click on the “Create an Account” button, select “Affiliate” from the drop-down menu, then enter your desired username and click the “Sign Up” button.

Pick Products, Promote, EARN, Repeat!

Once you’ve set up your ClickBank account, you go to the ClickBank Marketplace and start picking out products to promote.

If you’d rather wait and do more research, like find out how to choose a niche and products, that’s ok.

Now, if you wish to start promoting ClickBank products, you’re going to need your affiliate links. This is the unique URL (also known as Hoplink) which you give to subscribers on your list, visitors on your blog page or whichever platform you’re using, to go and buy the product you’re promoting.

This unique URL allows ClickBank to track whether or not a customer bought the product through your link.

There’s plenty of literature about hoplinks on the ClickBank support page,  but generating or getting one doesn’t require so much instruction. Click on the Marketplace tab from the dashboard.

You will then get to the ClickBank Marketplace:

From here, you have the option of using the Search bar on top to search for affiliate programs or products, or you can click on the tabs on the left sidebar.

The search results will show you the gravity, links to the affiliate page and the sales page of the products:

Go over each one and once you’ve found The One, click on the blue “Promote” button. This will bring up the Hopelink Generator popup:

Enter the account nickname you will use to promote this product. This is important because all transactions relating to this product will be tracked and entered under the account nickname you specified.

The tracking ID is optional, but this is handy when you’re doing split testing.

Clicking on the “Generate Hoplinks” button will then get you the affiliate link/hoplink for that product:

You can then copy that link and place it on your website. All clicks on that link are tracked and any sales generated from that link will be awarded to you under that specific account nickname.

Another way to get affiliate links is through a vendor’s affiliates or JV page. Below is how you get one using a ClickBank product called Total Money Magnetism…

First, head to the products home page. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and click on “affiliates”.

It’s then going to take you to a page where you must sign up for Total Money Magnetism’s affiliate program to access the affiliate links.

All you have to do here is enter your full name, your ClickBank ID (or account nickname), your email address and your website if you have your own.

Once signed up, you can then access the affiliate resource page. This is a page which gives you a bunch of cool resources you can use to promote the product. It has stuff like email swipes, page banners, and pictures.

To find your affiliate link, click on the “Promotion Links” on the top bar.

Please bear in mind that you’re going to have different links for different sales pages. One for a video sales page and one for a sales letter page etc.

For this particular offer you have to place your user ID (or ClickBank account nickname) into where it tells you to put it.

Scrolling down, you’ll see the hoplink or affiliate link that you can then copy and paste on your website:

NOTE: The way in which you get your links for affiliate programs may differ. Some may ask you to type in your ID and it will generate the links for you instead. Don’t worry though; you’re going to end up with the same affiliate links.

Now you’ve got your own hoplink, it’s time to promote the product. Depending on the strategy you’re using, make sure you always use your hoplink to redirect people to the product sales page.

If you don’t, ClickBank won’t be able to track that a sale was made through you, which means you don’t get your commission.
